Decades of successful project examples across infrastructure and manufacturing

Over the past decade, Erb Metalworks has achieved a milestone that few fabrication shops can claim: a perfect safety record combined with zero structural failures in the field. This achievement is a direct result of our unwavering commitment to material detail and rigorous quality control. We have successfully delivered over 2,500 tons of fabricated steel for infrastructure projects across Washington State, including bridges, public utilities, and municipal buildings. Each of these structural pieces was subjected to our proprietary multi-point inspection process, ensuring that the crafted steel we provided not only met code requirements but often exceeded the engineering specifications set forth by our clients.

Our reputation for excellence in custom metal fabrication was formally recognized in 2023 when we received the Regional Fabricator Award from the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Institute of Steel Construction. This honor specifically highlighted three of our project examples: a complex helical staircase for a downtown Seattle hotel, a series of seismic retrofitting brackets for a historic school, and a set of precision steel parts for a hydroelectric dam. The award citation praised our innovative application of technical methods to solve difficult engineering challenges, cementing our company profile as a leader in complex metalworks within the region.

We have also achieved significant growth in our capabilities through strategic investment in both equipment and personnel. In the last two years alone, we have expanded our facility by 12,000 square feet to accommodate larger structural pieces and installed a new fiber laser cutter that has doubled our throughput for steel parts production. More importantly, we have achieved a 94% employee retention rate among our welding and engineering staff. This stability means that the institutional knowledge regarding material detail and client preferences remains within the company, ensuring that the crafted steel we produce today maintains the same high standard as the first piece we ever fabricated.

Perhaps our most meaningful achievement is the trust we have built within our community. We have partnered with local trade schools to develop a welding apprenticeship program, helping to train the next generation of metalworks professionals. Through this program, we have successfully transitioned eight apprentices into full-time fabricators, all of whom are now contributing to our production of high-quality fabricated steel. Furthermore, our portfolio of project examples now includes several prominent local landmarks, from park installations to commercial storefronts, demonstrating that Erb Metalworks is not just a vendor, but a foundational part of Yakima’s industrial identity.
